Pros and cons of Ceres after 13 years

Anyone else feel this way? Just moved here 13 months ago and Homes are going for about $397,200 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 48,918 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Anyone in a similar situation? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I work in healthcare here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is average. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The public transit is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in education. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

No regrets on my end..

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
