Miles Price living

Ceresco is underrated, change my mind

Longtime lurker here, Rent is about $1,075/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I overthinking this? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Austin about 13 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Winters are long and cold

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is average.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.
