Curious what people think. You can expect to pay around $2,909 for rent here. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I overthinking this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much established but now it's excellent.

I've lived in Uptown for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The safety scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor recreation is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is decent.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Chicago about 13 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..
