I grew up here but left for a while. You can expect to pay around $2,909 for rent here. With a population of 48,340, Cerritos is a smaller city. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Should I be concerned? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The dating scene is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Tampa about 7 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2022 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Portland about 2 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- The outdoor recreation scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Pine Hills for 11 years. Moved from Portland for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
retail is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Limited shopping options. And weather can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 7/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
