Hi all, I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $908,600 on average. Household incomes average around $133,953 in Cerritos. The median home value here is around $908,600, which is pretty steep. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Thoughts? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- The cost of living scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in North for 5 years. Moved from LA for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is average - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Limited entertainment options. And walkability can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from San Francisco about 12 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is excellent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..
