Longtime lurker here, I'm a teacher here and It's a a small town city with about 5,287 people. The median home value here is around $229,000, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $838/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Any advice would be great. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
