Chadron quality of life -am I missing something?

So, Military spouse here. Rent is about $1,044/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Chadron sits at 183.6 per 100K. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thoughts? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The traffic scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2016 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
