The unemployment rate is 1.0%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'm a data analyst and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great farm-to-table places. it was the best decision I ever made.

I've lived in West for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The pet-friendliness scene is average
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 3 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
