Living in Chaffee -the reality

My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $41,024, which feels on the lower side for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Chaffee sits at 135.0 per 100K. Rent is about $713/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Has anyone dealt with this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
