So, Rent is about $1,103/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $224,400, which is actually reasonable. It's a a small town city with about 10,625 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Thoughts? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
