Planning a move to Chalco -neighborhoods?

So, I'm a 48-year-old electrician and Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 10,625, Chalco is a small town. Household incomes average around $81,427 in Chalco. You can expect to pay around $1,103 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 10,625 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thoughts? Appreciate any input. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I work in healthcare here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is underrated. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Portland it's average.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Raleigh about 1 years ago. The main reasons were school and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
