Pros and cons of Chalmette after 8 years

OK so We're a young couple and Rent is about $1,089/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,089 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Chalmette sits at 235.7 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much affordable but now it's improving.
