Couple moving to Chamblee from out of state

Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $407,900 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 30,369 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'm a nurse and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is average and there's always something going on.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in East area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Portland about 15 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is average.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
