I'm a college student here and Crime rate is something to consider -Champaign sits at 930.4 per 100K. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Would love some local perspective. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
