Longtime lurker here, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $1,103 for rent here. With a population of 88,822, Champaign is a smaller city. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Appreciate any input. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
