Alright, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider — Chandler sits at 228.2 per 100K. Poverty rate is 5.5%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 73°F, so it's warm year-round. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'm a physical therapist and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

Came here for weather and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The cultural scene is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Houston about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a accountant, 44, moved here 15 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in North and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The pet-friendliness situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for remote workers. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$70K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
