Moving to Chandler — what should I know?

Hey folks, I'm single, late 40s, and The median home value here is around $469,800, which is pretty steep. It's a a mid-size city city with about 278K people. You can expect to pay around $1,806 for rent here. Poverty rate is 5.5%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely pretty good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Sunset) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
