Quick question about Chanhassen

OK so I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a smaller city city with about 26,001 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What do you all think? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Came here for work and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The public transit is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The safety is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 5 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from San Francisco about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Sunset for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
- The pet-friendliness scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in legal. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Minneapolis about 10 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a lawyer and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.
