Best neighborhoods in Channahon

Hi all, I'm originally from Phoenix and Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 5.1%, which is about average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely challenging and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (The Heights) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
