Been meaning to ask this. Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $298,000 on average. Poverty rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community vibe is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I work in hospitality here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
