How is the nightlife in Charleston?

Hey, Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $469,100 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The outdoor recreation scene is solid

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in finance. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Definitely worth checking out..
