What Charleston does better than anywhere else

Longtime lurker here, Poverty rate is 6.3%, which is pretty low. With a population of 152K, Charleston is a mid-size city. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What do you all think? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I work in consulting here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is challenging. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Definitely worth checking out..
