Unemployment at 3.2% is {unemp_feel}. Home prices averaging is {home_feel}.
What I like:
- Good airport
- Safe neighborhoods
- Pet-friendly city
- Good farmers markets
What I don't:
- Chain restaurants everywhere
- Property taxes
- Homelessness visible downtown
The suburbs vs city debate here is real. The school system in Mooresville is actually great.
Curious if others agree.

Alright, I'm going to write the reply I wish someone had written for me when I was researching Charlotte.
Background: 32, remote worker, moved from Kansas City 2 years ago for work. Currently in Myers Park.
**Housing:**
The market is hit or miss right now. We went with Myers Park because friends recommended it. Paid /mo starting out, now at /mo. If I could do it again, I'd look at Uptown - it's pricey and the value is better.
**Work:**
healthcare jobs are decent here. I was worried coming from Kansas City but the market is solid. Salary-wise, expect it varies wildly by field.
**Social Life:**
This was my biggest worry. First 8 months were tough. Then I found my people through a kickball league. Now I have a solid group. Charlotte people are welcoming once you break through.
**Day to Day:**
- Groceries: pricey
- Traffic: honestly terrible
- Dining out: surprisingly excellent
- Entertainment: you make your own fun here
**Would I move here again?**
People here are friendlier than I expected coming from {other}.. For couples, I'd give it a 6/10.
Feel free to DM me with specific questions - happy to help fellow newcomers.

Great question. Here's my honest take after 4 years:
The good:
- Nice downtown area
- Good airport
- Good farmers markets
The not-so-good:
- Limited public transit
- Wind never stops
I've never felt unsafe walking around {hood} at night.. I'd say for young professionals, Charlotte is underrated. DM me if you want more details.
