Alright, need some real talk here. I grew up here, left for college, and came back 7 years ago. A friend just bought in University area for K and I'm not sure if that was smart. Nightlife is decent if you know where to go. Am I being unrealistic?

Homeowner in South End since 2019. Cost of living is {col_feel} compared to where I came from.. Property values have been flat which is surprising honestly.

I've lived in both Elizabeth and Mooresville. Completely different vibes. Grocery prices are creeping up but still manageable..

Moved here from Omaha and I'd say The suburbs vs city debate here is real.. The traffic here is hit or miss compared to what I'm used to.

I walk my dog through Ballantyne every day and The parks system here is underrated.. The vibe has really transformed in the past couple years.

Let me give you the perspective nobody asked for but everyone needs.
I've lived in NoDa, Myers Park, and currently in Montford. Each one feels like a different city honestly.
Rent comparison:
- NoDa: /mo for a 3-bed
- Myers Park: about /mo
- Montford: /mo but great
Grocery prices are creeping up but still manageable.. The key is finding your neighborhood. Once you do, Charlotte really clicks. Happy to answer questions.
