Honest thoughts on life in Charlottesville

Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and Poverty rate is 9.4%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The cultural scene is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 11 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Boston it's challenging.
