Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 14 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The traffic is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The cost of living is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely pretty good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (East) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in tech. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like seafood.
