Hey everyone, I'm a 54-year-old graphic designer and Poverty rate is 9.4%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,453 for rent here. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What would you do? Any help is appreciated. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely improving and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Riverside) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely pretty good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
