Chaska is underrated, change my mind

Alright, The median home value here is around $379,400, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. With a population of 28,146, Chaska is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Chaska sits at 59.0 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Low taxes
- Lots of new development

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Cold winters
- Boring for young people
- Far from major airports
What are your go-to spots? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely tough and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Westside) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Dallas it's decent.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely decent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Westside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

I've lived in Sunset for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Close to major attractions
- The job market scene is improving

The downsides:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.
