Cost of living reality check — Chattanooga
Been living here since 2005. Homes are going for about $259,200 on average. It's a a mid-size city city with about 183K people. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What would you do? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services.
