Job market in Chattanooga — what industries are hiring?
I'm in finance and considering a move to Chattanooga, TN. How's the job market there? The unemployment rate shows 3.2% which seems pretty good. But what does it actually look like on the ground?
Is it easy to network and find opportunities?

Great post! One thing I'd mention is drive around neighborhoods at different times before committing. Makes a big difference.

I've lived in Southside for 15 years and it's decent, has its pros and cons.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

If you can afford it, University District is the best place to live. Period.

Check out the Northside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

As someone who moved here from LA, I can confirm most of this. The job opportunities surprised me the most.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Eastside. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Coming from Denver, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are about the same.
