Quick question about Chattanooga

Hi all, I've been here for 2 years and Household incomes average around $61,028 in Chattanooga. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Chicago it's challenging.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Diverse dining options
- Strong sense of community
- The public transit scene is tough

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Highland for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The walkability scene is decent

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely improving and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The dating scene is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely better than expected and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Fairview) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The housing market scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Lakewood. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in legal. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
