Longtime lurker here, I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $35,244, which feels on the lower side for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Has anyone dealt with this? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..
