Raising a family in Chesapeake — thoughts?

Hey, I've been here for 7 years and The median home value here is around $359,100, which seems about average. Median household income is $94,189, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Any advice would be great. Appreciate any input. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in Sunset for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The walkability scene is tough

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The dating scene is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
