What's it really like living in Chesapeake?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Born and raised here. Rent is about $1,523/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $359,100, which seems about average. With a population of 251K, Chesapeake is a mid-size city. Household incomes average around $94,189 in Chesapeake. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
