Working remotely from Chesapeake — my experience

I've been working remotely from Chesapeake for 10 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Could be better but workable with a good provider
Coworking spaces: A few good ones downtown

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Chesapeake is underrated for remote workers.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Rent tip: look for places in fall. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 6 years and my experience is very similar.

As someone who moved here from San Francisco, I can confirm most of this. The weather surprised me the most.

Don't sleep on Northside. It's up and coming and still affordable.

I work in healthcare and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 4 months.

Check out the Northside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.
