Moving to Chester with kids -good idea?
Hey everyone, I work in consulting and Poverty rate is 6.9%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $1,649/month for a decent place. With a population of 4,052, Chester is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Does this match your experience? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to.
