Things that make Chester unique

Hey everyone, Been living here since 2023. The median home value here is around $85,400, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 33,209, Chester is a smaller city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Any advice would be great.

I work in legal here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is improving. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- The healthcare scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely pretty good and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Midtown) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Downtown) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for work and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The walkability is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
