Considering Chester vs Los Angeles -help me decide
Hey, Median household income is $88,455, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,463/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Would love some local perspective. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 8 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much competitive but now it's underrated.
