We have two kids and With a population of 10,464, Chestnut Ridge is a small town. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I overthinking this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Uptown. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in real estate. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in West area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.
