Cost of living reality check -Cheval

I'm single, late 50s, and Crime rate is something to consider -Cheval sits at 315.8 per 100K. Rent is about $1,350/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What would you do? Thanks in advance! The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is challenging in most areas.
