Longtime lurker here, Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Cheyenne sits at 341.1 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I wrong here? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Eastside. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
