Commute times in Cheyenne -how bad?

Hey, Crime rate is something to consider -Cheyenne sits at 341.1 per 100K. Homes are going for about $311,200 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely pretty good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Highland) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the East side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.
