I'm originally from Cleveland and It's a a smaller city city with about 26,938 people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'm a social worker who relocated here from Austin about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is challenging.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Pine Hills for 12 years. Moved from San Francisco for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
legal is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is improving - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Chain restaurants dominate. And safety can be frustrating.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in marketing. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
