OK so We have two kids and Average temperature is around 52°F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider — Chicago sits at 943.2 per 100K. Homes are going for about $315,200 on average. Household incomes average around $75,134 in Chicago. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Let me know your thoughts. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development.
