Couple moving to Chicago from out of state

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $315,200, which seems about average. Average temperature is around 52°F, so expect cold winters. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- The cultural scene scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
