OK so The median home value here is around $830,000, which is pretty steep. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much stable but now it's improving.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in legal. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 1 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Houston it's solid.
