My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 3 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Raleigh about 11 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.
