Is Chino Hills still affordable?

I'm a 40-year-old accountant and The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. Median household income is $122,600, which feels pretty solid for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What do you all think? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Boston about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is average.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
