Raising a family in Chippewa Falls -thoughts?

Hey folks, My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Chippewa Falls sits at 351.2 per 100K. Poverty rate is 9.1%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Let me know your thoughts. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much stable but now it's improving.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in East area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
