Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 30s, and Homes are going for about $697,400 on average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
